The Land of the Free and Home of the Brave is defended by the fiercest warriors in all the world. But, when it comes to financial education, the military does a poor job of arming warfighters with the tools and education they need to manage their personal finances and fully take advantage of the DoD programs that are available. Aim High Finance was started to bridge that knowledge gap and be your source of military focused financial information. While Aim High Finance is specifically focused on members of the US Military, many of my blog posts, e-newsletters and articles will be relevant to all people, civilian and military alike.

First and foremost, Aim High Finance is about you and your financial freedom. Please let me know what topics you’d like to learn more about! You can follow and message Aim High Finance on Facebook. You can also send me an email and subscribe to my free monthly e-newsletter or ask questions there. I hope that I can be a valuable source of information for you and, because everything I release is 100% free, feel free to share my blog posts and e-newsletters with friends, family and military members that you think could benefit from the information within!

Hello, my name is Bo Edmond and I’m a Captain in the USAF. I enlisted in the Army Reserves as a medic in 2000 and served nine years primarily in a traditional Reserve capacity other than a two year CONUS activation in support of OEF. I utilized my GI Bill to pay for my Bachelor in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Washington, Tacoma. I also have a Masters degree from the University of Oklahoma in International Relations.

After completing my finance degree I went to work for Northwestern Mutual as a Financial Representative. My aim was to use my knowledge and passion for finance to help people to secure their financial futures for themselves and their families. Unfortunately, I started with Northwestern Mutual right before the Great Recession of 2008 which led to me being unable to support my family and my pursuit of a commission with the Air Force. Since commissioning, I have remained engaged in the financial realm and have often given financial advice to my peers and Airmen in everything in the finance world from budgeting, to TSP, to the stock market, to real estate.

Enjoy! ‘Merica!
